CeraCode® Base: Individual part marking for ceramic components
Ceramic materials are used in various industrial sectors such as the automotive and electronics industries as well as in energy technology. The labelling and traceability of quality data is of great importance here. With CeraCode® Base for ceramics, Senodis offers CIJ solutions for the permanent marking of components with process temperatures of up to 1,800°C. The type of ink and the size of the marking can be customised.
Description
Ceramic components are characterised by high material efficiency and are often part of functionally relevant components in various industrial sectors. A long service life and high functionality is one of the reasons for consistent labelling to record material and process parameters. Component markings are used to monitor the service life and as quality assurance measures in the manufacture of individual products and material batches.
With the help of the standardised continuous inkjet printing process (CIJ) and the corresponding high-temperature inks, we enable the printing of very small areas with standardised codes, plain text or free-form shapes. The inks that can be used vary in terms of contrast and temperature stability in particular: in addition to light and dark contrasts, temperature-dependent colour changes or UV contrasts are also possible at operating temperatures of up to 1,800°C.
We integrate the marking system and the data connection to your systems from a single source.
Advantages
- Quality control through traceability of material batches, individual components and associated process parameters
- Avoidance of errors and reduction of rejects
- Increased efficiency through inventory management and better planning of production processes
- Fast and reliable identification of defective parts
Specifications
The labelling solution can be integrated into both existing and new systems. We offer customised integration concepts for every production line and intelligent concepts for reducing manual handling steps during operation. The position, shape and type of coding can also be customised.
The high-temperature precursor ink used was specially developed for functional ceramics and can be made available to the customer in different variants. By using different contrast materials, light, dark and colour changes or UV contrasts can be created with the ink during the production process. The labelling remains permanently on the components and is machine-readable.
Continuous inkjet (CIJ) systems are compact printers that operate with a continuous ink jet. They are particularly suitable for small fonts or codes and can be operated with different solutions such as precursor, pigment or organic inks.
The labelling solution has local data recording and storage. Simple integration into your IT environment is possible via standard interfaces. Depending on customer requirements, we offer a user-friendly interface for controlling the printer components or for status queries. We also realise individual customer requirements in the area of software development and interface provision.
In general, the CIJ printing process requires very little maintenance. It has automated cleaning cycles that we adapt to customer needs. In addition, Senodis offers an emergency service and regular safety inspections to ensure trouble-free operation.
